Windows Media Player, Playlist, or Read specific folders

Howdy,

I finally got my 4gb microsd, and the headset dongle. I uploaded some songs to the phone, in two respective folders...one for hip hop, and one for rock. However, there is no option for play all while your in a folder. Or, if you select all music within windows media, it mixes both of the folders together.

Is there a way to create a playlist from a folder?

...or have WMP read each folder individually?

Is there another(better) program out there?

Thanks

It sounds like you transfered those folders via Activesync? Try using the Sync option in WMP; make your two playlists and try Syncing those to your phone. You can play each list, of course, or play All Music and hear it all - straight through or shuffled.

You may also want to change where the music is stored by defulat, setting it to your storage card to take advantage of the space.

Or try CorePlayer or PocketPlayer as both support creating custom playlists.

(or TCPMP, which is free)

I transferred the songs via a card reader. My Mobile Device Center won't read the phone.

You're not the only one with problems syncing with Vista (I'm using XP, but have seen this before). A few minutes of Googling may be enlightening. I don't know if this will help; perhaps it will get the gears turning or maybe you'll find a solution through others' discussions.

One suggestion seems to be to make sure you have the updated WMDC from Microsoft.

Here's a link to download the latest Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center (6.1) for Vista: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx

If your WMDC version is not up-to-date, I'd try that first...

And here are three quick reads I found Googling "Vista Blackjack II driver."

Good luck!
