Guest snowbrdkid0 Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Hello everyone, I just got a BJII. I like it alot so far. I have a few questions though... 1. When I was at the AT&T store, I went online w/ a brand new BJII, went on my school website, and downloaded and viewed a .ppt file on it. Now on my BJ, I can't do it! There are buttons on the page in a frame that I can't press. Any idea why? I'm guessing it has something to do with Java 2. I'm new to smartphones...What are some good apps to take advantage of it? 3. Now, i cant get on the internet! I have full service and 3g, but it says lost connection. any ideas? I already found out how to get ringtones and homescreens! THanks for the help
Guest thelostsoul Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Start - Settings - Connections - GPRS Highlight ATT IMS and press menu - delete. About the .ppt, maybe the phone in the store had Opera Mobile browser or Opera Mini. Opera Mobile is not free, but a much better browser than PocketIE. Opera Mini runs in Java and this makes it a bit of a pain to run sometimes, but it's fast and loads sites more like the iPhone...

I can't download from opera mini, it redirects me to IE. IE says something about scripting disabled on that page. ps.-I used your trick so opera stops asking for access, it workd great
Guest thelostsoul Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 Ohh, that's a different story. Opera Mini, unfortunately, doesn't have its own download manager, and IE's download manager is crap. So if you don't wanna buy Opera Mobile (which has a decent download manager) you may want to try this other web browser called "JB5" - it's not the best, but it's free and supports a lot more than IE supports. You can download it here: http://jataayu.net As far as why it worked on the other blackjack, I have no idea, but I find it's best to have a secondary browser that's native to WM (not java) on the device in case of any compatibility problems.
Guest snowbrdkid0 Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 thanks! I figured it out. It wasn't anything technical, but you can put the column of tabs on my school website into an "explorer" type mode, and view it with files and folders. Then I could dl. I like using opera, and will probably just use ie when I need to dl... unless I can get ahold of a key for opera mobile, just not sure I want to drop the 24 bucks. thanks for the help
