Guest Look Its Lance Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Yeah I was tring to remove the limit on the 300kb ringtone. I accidently deleted filesizelimit instead of editing it, is there anyway i can get it back?
Guest jonathanbaker1 Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 (edited) Yeah it should be as easy as adding any registry key. Using your favorite registry editor, I use CeRegEditor, it's easy and free, go to HKEY_Current_User > ControlPanel > Sounds. right click (or whatever) on the Sounds folder (not any of the subfolders) and make a new REG_DWORD with the exact name "FileSizeLimit" and a really big Data Value like "10007200" Screenshot: Edited April 2, 2008 by jonathanbaker1
Guest Detslider Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 what harm is done by deleting vs. editing it?
Guest jonathanbaker1 Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 what harm is done by deleting vs. editing it? lol, you can't just go deleting registry entries. It's not like deleting a program. From what I know, if you delete this registry entry, you will not be ably to use ANY size file for a ringtone. You will get an error. Gimmie a minute and I'll try it.

If you delete the registry entry and try to set a ringtone, you will get this error: "The file size cannot be larger than 0 KB" I just tried it.. Edited April 2, 2008 by jonathanbaker1

What's weird is I do not get this problem when I delete it. What happens is it lets me set it to what I want, but then it begins resetting to the Windows Default one.
