Guest mobilianer Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 I want to sync my Polaris (HTC Touch Cruise) with iTunes is there any tool? I am running a Vista Desktop Thx for Help Mobilianer
Guest WearTheFoxHat Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Ok, there are a few tools: Tunes Sync for Windows = http://www.pocketmac.com/product.php?id=5 * I bought this one, and had a problem with it initially, and didn't ever get round to seeing it I could get it to work. Although their support team are very helpful. Double Twist - http://www.doubletwist.com This looks like it could well do the job very well, but is a lot more than just itunes sync. There was another one, but I did a search of the forum and can't find it. It was a proof of concept thing where someone had created an app similar to the ipod touch but to run on a smart phone.
Guest mobilianer Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Thanks for answer! I ll try both of them and report! Are you now using your smartphone as mp3 player? Or remain your Ipod?
Guest Neil5459 Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 This remains a tricky and frustrating process. There are a number of programs out there, as WTFH has said, but with each successive release of iTunes, Apple closes a few gaps. Tunes Sync only syncs non-protected (ie iTunes+) files, and most of the free converters can't convert the latest iTunes version files. One commercial program I've tried is WMA-Convert which claims to be able to convert iTunes and protected WMA files to other formats. Costs $20, and there is no guarantee it will remain compatible with future DRM systems, but it does work with the current iTunes build. It also maintains the ID3 tags and doesn't compromise sound quality. Once the files are converted, you can then use Tues Sync or WMP to sync to your device. There is also another PPC music player in the wings which includes a PC sync program to sync iTunes playlists of non-protected files, but I'm under NDA on this so can't say any more :D I did try Double Twist, but it is dire- very, very slow, and not compatible with the current iTunes build.
Guest Orbitmac Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 Hey! A week ago I found a tool named musicfone! It syncs my playlists with my Orbit 2 (that is they call the Touch Cruise in Germany) You can find it on www.musicfone.org Maybe this will help you Orbitmac
Guest mobilianer Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 Thx Orbitmac I will test it! And give a report!
Guest Neil5459 Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Looks good, but same criticism as above- it doesn't sync copy protected iTunes files, so you are back to needing to convert/strip the protection before syncing.
Guest mobilianer Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 Yeah baby! Thats it! The copyprotection is ok because I do not really have much copyprot. music in my libery buy the stuff in real stores and then load it up to my Pc. And in the news I read that musicfone is quite new maybe they work on it
