Guest jyalexop2003 Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 Someone at howardforums says the new Opera Mini 4.1 beta comes with signed certificates and thus no java hack needed. http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1352177
Guest jyalexop2003 Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 So, has anyone installed the signed version 4.1 on the BJ II without having to to use the java hack.
Guest thelostsoul Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 Yup, that's right, it works perfectly without the hack, and the new version has some pretty nice new features...

Guest thelostsoul Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 Did you install 4.1 with multiple signed certificates? Yea, they say to try them starting with the first one, and the first one worked for me... But I'll still probably try the others and let you guys know which work and which don't...
Guest jyalexop2003 Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 Is no one concerned with security issues on the proxy-based mini? What is considered the most secure, a native WM 6 browser like opera mobile or PIE? So has everyone had success downloading/installing the 4.1 Beta (multiple signed) on the BJ?
Guest thelostsoul Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 I'm concerned about security on my entire phone. I won't login to my bank account on my phone because I'm transmitting data across an enormous distance. Plus, ATT is known to filter, record, and track a lot of things (whether they really do or not, that's up for debate) so I just don't trust any sensitive data transmitted over my phone. That said, Opera is a considerably reputable company. Their browser is even used by Nintendo for the Wii system, along with many other major companies for various devices. I would say using Opera's proxy is about as safe as using the ATT proxy.

Guest thelostsoul Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 Please read my posts in your other thread: http://www.modaco.com/content/Samsung-i617...kyfire-Firefox/ As I said there, it's used for a different purpose in IE.
