Hi,

I have the Samsung i617 phone and am wondering if there is a list of what color the lights are compared to what it means. Also, how can I get more control of them, maybe make them work more?

Thanks.

Hal.

LEDalerts is a great app for activating the LEDs.

Yeah I just bought it too. I really don't like the fact that samsung couldn't have integrated it into the phone from the begining. BlackBerries have had it for how long?

Solid red = Charging

Solid Green = Charged fully

Blink Blue = BT is enabled)

Blinking Purple = Using 3G service or receiving email/message

I actually went a different route to remind me of missed calls.

I download Smartphone Best Reminder and its AWESOME...very simple, very small foot print...in fact there is NO program running in the background.

It plays a simple tone when you miss a call/message/email.

Id rather have a audio reminder then a LED any day of the week and twice on sunday.

Blinking orange/yellow means there is a problem with charging.

I havent bought LEDalerts but and seriously considering it -- can anyone comment on how it effects batterly life? Im assuming the LED power draw is so small its a non-issue -- but if its on overnight, will this effect the battery life in any noticable way?

Thanks

The LED on our BJ2 sucks a maximum of 10mAH (probably more around 5mAH since they're not that bright). That's such a dismal amount of power, with a 1700mAH battery. Applications stealing CPU cycles on your phone will burn up far more energy.

Yeah, I can tell you for 100% fact that you will notice absolutely NO difference in battery life. These are very low powered LED's. The MCD rating on most cell phone LEDs is really low compared to what is out there. Even if the LED was constant on, it wouldnt matter, but thats not what LED alerts does, it blinks.

I've been using LEDalerts for about a week and so far it has been a decent addition

to my phone....seems to work fine, but a few more options would be nice...maybe their

newer version have more. It was worth the measely $9.00 or whatever.

@ dtphantom... I agree with ya on Samsung should've had this impliminted into

this phone...but that's how they keep us coming back for the "New Ones".... HAHAHA

Back in December I called for the Programming Gods to sen dus an App to fix the LED< and Glory! LEDalerts was Created!

I love the App and think it's worth every penny!

I also like their EMail alerts too, lets me know if an incoming message is liable to be worth digging out the 'ol Samsung from my pocket!

Give them a try!
