Hello. My son just bought a new BlkJk2. He is unable to connect to activesync. On the phone, in connections/USB, it does say ActiveSync. He Dwnld'd 4.5 from Microsoft's website. His pc recognises the phone, but when he plugs in, it sits there trying to connect. Then it goes int othis troubleshooting thing, which doesn't solve anything.

Please help :D

I can't be of much help; but once in a whille my Windows XP will do the same thing, suddenly becomming finicky: it won't connect through Active Sync unless I restart my PC.

-Have you guys tried uninstalling Active Sync and RE-downloading/installing it again?

-Is he able to download Active Sync on another PC and try to sync from that one? That would at least eliminate the phone as the problem-source.

-Try hard-reseting the phone? He obviously won't be able to back-up his data through syncing before hand!

Yes, we re-installed active scyn and rebooted the pc. I think he has a bigger problem. He lives in Myrtle Beach, SC and i live in pa, so we have to do everything over the phone. But while we were troubleshooting, he mentioned that his Windows Firewall was not on and he was not able to go into it and turn it on. He did Win Updates and everything was up to date. So, it looks like he will have to do a Reformat of his HD. Thank you

If it's coming down to that, I'd try reinstalling Windows--then doing all the ol' updates--before totally scrubbing that hard drive!

Thanks dad for starting this thread.

I have been having no luck getting activesync to sync. I have uninstalled and reinstalled activesync 4.5. I turned off my firewall and virus and it still wont work.

I have just downloaded the trial version of Outlook 2007. I had an older version of outlook installed and I was hoping that was the problem. I am not sure if this is the case because I am still waiting for the download to complete.

I did notice a few wierd things.

One is that my windows firewall will not work. I keep getting the message : Windows firewall can not be displaded because the associated service is not running. Do you want to start the Windows Firewall/Internet connection sharing (ICS) services?

If I click yes I get message : Winows cannot start Windows Firewall/Internet connection sharing services.

I have also noticed that if I go into the control panel and click on the Network and Internet Connections I dont see any connection for ActiveSync. I looked through the troubleshooting guide and it said to :

  1. Do the following:
    • Disconnect the device.
    • Open Network Connections in Control Panel on the PC.

Note
If your Control Panel is set to Category View, open
Network and Internet Connections
, and then open
Network Connections

  • Right-click the local area connection created by ActiveSync, and click Properties. In the Connect using box, Windows Mobile-based device is displayed.
  • In This connection uses the following items, select every check box (to select all protocols).
  • Reconnect the device.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I dont want to have to wipe out my windows or hard drive.

My 8125 worked fine in activesync. I am just having a heck of a time trying to get my blackjack 2 to sync.
