Guest Graham 535i Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 What software is a must for the HTC Touch??? List and link would be great Thanks Graham
Guest simon211175 Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 the first thing you need to install is Batterystatus Today plugin from here: http://www.chi-tai.info/cs_BatteryStatus_X...o_WM5_iM_cs.htm Then you can overclock it so that it doesn't constantly hang on you. Depends on what kind of software you are after though - for example are you talking games, navigation, messaging, internet etc etc? Personally, I'd suggest palringo for instant messaging, CoPilot for navigation, Opera Mini for the internet.

Guest petec500 Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 As Simon suggested, it depens on what you want to do with your Touch. For me, the essentials are: Resco Explorer (much better than standard file explorer) SK Tools (useful for tweaks and to clear out memory space) Sprite Backup (unless losing all your data is not important to you) CameraAware (for cameras and Navizon points collection) TomTom Navigator 6 (or any other GPS software of your choice) Inesoft Address Book (far better than standard contacts and in my opinion better than others on the market) JUVS HTC Album (for reviewing photos) HTC Keyboard + Keypad (essential if you're ever going to text or email on the Touch) That lot just about fills up my device!
Guest simon211175 Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 Mine runs well on 299MHz. I tried higher, but it started playing up so I lowered it. Always make sure though that you don't have the "overclock on reboot" option set, else you'll be cursing if it goes wrong.
Guest Graham 535i Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 JUVS HTC Album (for reviewing photos) Is there a way to link this program to the touchflo menu?
Guest petec500 Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 JUVS HTC Album (for reviewing photos) Is there a way to link this program to the touchflo menu? Not sure - you could try Touch Settings, which allows you to alter how the TouchFlo cube works. To be honest though, i've not used TouchFlo since the first week or two when i got my Touch. The novelty wears off after a while.
Guest simon211175 Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 The novelty wears off after a while. true - although I do still use it in the car for quick access to contacts.
Guest petec500 Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 true - although I do still use it in the car for quick access to contacts. Good point - hadn't thought of that! PS - like the Hobbes avatar - my fav cartoon!

Guest kantizuni Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 (edited) I'm not sure what's different, but what i'm wondering what your phone was running at before you overclocked it... Out of the box, when I run About under system settings, it says my processor is 400mhz, and it's running at 300mhz. Or maybe i'm misunderstanding your posts. Edited April 24, 2008 by kantizuni

Guest sfcman Posted July 19, 2008 Report Posted July 19, 2008 Some of my own personal favourites: Inesoft Cash Organizer Data On The Run (superb for synchronsiation with Access databases) Pocket TV Calender+ & Task+ (much better than the inbuilt today screen plug-ins) GS Player (for internet radio) Handy Converter HTC Action Microsoft Reader, plus Pocket Encarta & several foreign language dictionaries Pocket Atlas Streaming Media (my Touch did not have it installed) Wordmaster (for all crossword fans) As for games, this will really vary with personal preference, but my Touch has versions of Minesweeper, Othello, Chess, Cribbage, Backgammon, Scrabble & Yahtzee installed, plus numerous variations on the Solitaire theme.

Do you have the touch Dual (ie Touch with the slide up keyboard)? This section is related to the origional touch.
