Guest MI 99XPL Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 Does anybody use a program that allows them to save a map showing where they have been? I want to map out some of my mountain bike trails this year and be able to save them to my PC. Maybe even send them to friends or post them to my webpage for other to use as a map of the trail. Any sugestions? I've visited a few websites, but they either don't support the Blackjack II (yet) or the software they use will not load on my phone. Thanks.

Guest MI 99XPL Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 (edited) Thanks Mysterous Caveman. I checked out that program and site. It loaded to my BJ2 with no problems. And I was able to find a map with in the IMG format. I even tested it in on the way to work and it's working great. There is even a WindowsXP program you can load on to the PC for free. I can't wait to hit the trail and give it a try. Edited April 17, 2008 by MI 99XPL
Guest Mysterious Caveman Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 Thanks Mysterous Caveman. I checked out that program and site. It loaded to my BJ2 with no problems. Guest john redcorn Posted May 1, 2008 Report Posted May 1, 2008 I've been playing around with GPSVP in my backyard and parking lot at work for a few days cause I've kinda been thinking about getting into geocaching. (Actually I tried gpsvp once before a month ago but couldn't get it to work at all, didn't know you had to init the gps with gps test first until I saw this thread) Few questions I have if anyone knows the answer: 1. theres an option for screen rotation in there, i turned it on but it does nothing. I'm assuming this means it would display like the gps in my car where the top of the screen is the direction of travel rather than just always north. I'm rotating the phone by hand right now, hint: the "heading" if it says 90deg turn the phone to the left 90deg if it says 180 turn it to the left 180 etc etc 2. it doesn't seem to pick up walking as movement too easily and takes it a while to register if your nearer or further from whatever waypoint you're trying to get to. and 3. It seems to only be accurate to 1 second of lat/long. any waypoints I make by saying create way point here are only to 1 second accuraccy. If I put a waypoint in manually it will save tenths and hundredths of seconds but when you tell it to navigate to that waypoint it seems to want to go just the the seconds, just ignoring the tenths and hundredths on the end. This would only get me within 70 feet or so of where I'm trying to get to. Any ideas?
