Guest watchinggoodman Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Hello, I recently purchased and unlock AT&T BlackJack II. The phone works fine however I can't receive text photos or send them out. Can anyone give me clear, thorough, point by point instructions on how and where to delete the AT&T profile info and what the T-Mobile is and how to load it. Thanks
Guest watchinggoodman Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Hey forget about the question - I got it answered. I had to call T-Moblie because of blocking Spam I was getting on my phone. Why I had tech on the phone they led me through the changes. Works great! Now for the GPS Thanks

Can anyone help me set up SMS? Also, is there any way of getting rid of all the AT&T garbage and replace it with T-Mobile software? Thanks! Follow all the above steps. It worked for me with sms and mms but cannot get the browser to work. Tmobile support said I need the 19.99 data plan instead of just Tzones. I get the following error upon trying to connect to any site: HTTP ERROR: $CODE$ $MESSAGE$ RequestURI=/ Anybody know what it means? Thanks

Guest hype beast Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 I have been reading all kinds of forums to figure out these mms settings for my blackjack i617. I need to know how and what settings to put, step by step instructions. Thank you for your time.
Guest joelthrow Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 I have been reading all kinds of forums to figure out these mms settings for my blackjack i617. I need to know how and what settings to put, step by step instructions. Thank you for your time. With the phone unlocked and the Windows Mobile upgrade already completed, the phone will boot up and make and receive calls. Data connections are not possible, because the AT&T service configuration is still in place. Next, we will enable data connections for T-Mobile. GPRS Settings On the phone, go to Start/All Programs/Settings/Connections. Three connections will show up with a lock symbol next to them. They can’t be changed or removed from here, but that’s fine since we can add new ones. Add these two (select Menu/Add): Description t-mobile internet Connects to The Internet Access point internet2.voicestream.com leave the defaults for the remaining fields and Description t-mobile mms Connects to WAP network Access point wap.voicestream.com leave the defaults for the remaining fields Proxy Settings In the Connections menu, right after GPRS there is an entry for proxy settings. Select Proxy and you will see the AT&T proxy definition, also locked. Let’s add the T-Mobile proxy settings (select Menu/Add): Description t-mobile proxy Connects from WAP network Connects to The Internet Proxy 216.155.165.50:8080 leave the defaults for the remaining fields Now you should be able to browse the Internet. What I don’t remember is if I had to select the T-Mobile connections somewhere (I think not), or if they got selected automatically. This could be a step that is missing here. MMS Profile Next let’s fix the MMS (multimedia messaging) settings. Go to Start/App Programs/Messaging/Messages. Select Menu/Multimedia Msg. Options (scroll down to see this option)/Multimedia Msg. Profiles. Delete the AT&T profile that is there and create a new one with the following settings: Profile Name t-mobile mms MMSC URL http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms Proxy check Address 216.155.165.50 Port 8080 GPRS t-mobile mms leave the defaults for the remaining fields Now you are able to send and receive multimedia messages. Go to Settings - Connections (6) - Wireless Manager (1) With Wireless Manager highlighted (do not press the OK on joystick), select Menu then Advanced. Internet connection - Select TMobile or whatever you named your GPRS for connecting to the Internet. Select Done and exit out of there. You should now be on the internet when you go to the Explorer. ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) Hack: Enable Tethering via Internet Sharing using the MEdiaNet connection HKLM\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings In here will be a value named "ForceCellConnection" Change "ATT ICS" to "" and reboot. ICS will now allow you to choose either ATT ICS or MEdia. ATT ICS will not work without a tethering plan on your wireless account, but MEdia Net will work as long as you have the signal and the basic pay-as-you-go feature (not recommended). ATT ICS uses "isp.cingular" (tethering) whereas MEdia Net uses "wap.cingular" (general internet). Unlocking ICS and Media Net The ATT ICS and MEdia Net entries in the connection settings dialog are read only and won't let you edit them, But if you navigate to: HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4...}\Connections There will be 2 keys in there. one for ATT ICS and MEdia Net. In those keys there will be a value of ReadOnly. Change the value for these from 1 to 0 and reboot your phone. These connections should now be editable. This post was made via tether w/o plan and via USB connection
