Guest Paul (MVP) Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 Chances are that as cameras on WinMo devices gradually become marginally less rubbish, more and more of us are using them to capture events and moments that we'd like to preserve. The reality is however, that it's sometimes a bit of a chore to backup photos from your device in case of a catastrophe (lost phone, dead memory card etc.), particularly if - like me - you never really tether your device. There are a number of existing services that provide this functionality (think Dashwire or SugarSync (formerly Sharpcast Photos) but there is another player you may not have heard of.... 'ITookThisOnMyPhone', who have just updated their Windows Mobile Client. From the ITTOMP page...It's FREE... It's Automatic! Click. ake a photo or video with your Smartphone. Images automatically transfer to your online photo gallery. No wires. No manual uploading. No cost. No kidding. View your photos and videos online in seconds. iTookThisOnMyPhone is the easiest way to upload photos and videos. Enjoy. Collect your photos and videos in a secure online gallery. Keep your photos private or share them with friends and family. Easily organize, email, and print your photos. Save a lifetime of photos and videos in one secure place. I've been playing with the application for the past week or so and... well, it works :D Photos seamlessly backed up online! As far as install-and-forget peace of mind goes, it doesn't get much better, especially for free (assuming you are on a flat rate data plan). Due to the way it works, there should be no battery hit either, as it's completely dormant until your photo directory gets updated. As an added bonus you can create online albums with public / private status, to share your pics with friends / family. If you want to give it a try, head on over to http://www.itookthisonmyphone.com/, sign up and then download the client which is compatible with both Windows Mobile Standard and Professional. P

Guest finisterre Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 (edited) Hmmm. Think I'd rather use Shozu as it auto-uploads to Flickr which is probably more likely to still be around in a few years time. Edited April 10, 2008 by finisterre
