Another Garmin XT problem

Garmin Mobile XT on my smartphone -- I installed it onto my own SD card using posts found elsewhere on Modaco. I got it all working, EXCEPT that I can't get any of the user options under Settings to stick. For example, Settings | Audio |Volume defaults to Off. If I change it to 40% or 60% or anything else, it doesn't stick, just goes back to Off. Same for most of the other Settings. Anyone have any idea where these selections are stored?

If I look in the registry, all I see are the following keys:

HKLM\Software\Apps\Garmin Mobile XT\Install Dir, Instl and InstlDir

HKLM\Software\Garmin\Que\Files, QuePath and UseAttachedGPS

In the \Garmin directory, I see several *.NVM files.

Any help appreciated.
