Guest kiwiroberson Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 (edited) I've got Tomtom navigator 6 for my phone and after some tweaking have got the gps to pick up and work great, however while the free supplied (small) tomtom map for my local area works when i installed a bigger UK map set to my memory card tomtom dosn't find it, i think tomtom cant find the card as when voices are installed to the card they dont seem to be found either although when the phone is plugged into the pc the tomtom home progam find them all afte it installs them. I dont think my cad is the poblem as windows media etc can play songs from it fine, Any help would really be great, Thanks in advance [Kiwi Edited April 15, 2008 by kiwiroberson
Guest mcwarre Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 If you have a card reader try writing them direct to the card or try not using TomTom Home - I have had nothing but trouble with it and uninstalled it and use manual methods. Remember the folder is called 'Voices' and needs to be in the root of your storage card.

Remember the folder is called 'Voices' and needs to be in the root of your storage card. The map issue you're getting can also be fixed by editing the currentmap.dat file (in the same folder as the TomTom .exe file) and ensure it is pointing to the correct path (e.g. \\Storage Card\\GB_plus_major_roads_of WE)

Guest Mattster_SPV Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 Can someone please tell me the settings for Tomtom 6 on HTC P3600 (Trinity / SPV M700) to successfully get the internal GPS device found... I've read that in Tomtom settings I have to select "NMEA GPC receiver" and then Com 9, but this hasn't worked. Then I read that with Tomtom 6 you choose "Built In GPS Receiver".... I'm confused and desperate as I find load of posts from people with the same problem, but no one with a solution that sems to work!!! The original owner of the phone (spv m700) debranded it and installed WM 6.1: Device name: HTC_P3600i Model NO: TRIN100 Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional ROM version 3.03.751.5 ROM Date: 04/01/08 Radio Version: 1.16.00.00 Protocol Version: 32.53.7018.01H Tomtom 6 is installed, but the GPS receiver is not being detected. I have done what the forums say, i.e. selected "NMEA GPC receiver", get a screen with: COM3: GPS in COM9 COM7: RIL on COM6: S2410 IRDA I have clicked on the first option (COM 9 is recommended), but still no GPS device found, indoors or out, after days of trying Help anyone.... please.......?! :D
Guest Mattster_SPV Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 I've sorted it, incase anyone with the same problem reads this post: The problem was the old radio ROM flashed when unlocking the phone. I managed to get in touch with the original owner and he sent me a link to an an .exe file which I downloaded, ran whilst activesynced to my phone, and voila! I now have radio ROM 1.50.08.11. Tomtom 6.03 now successfully works using settings "other NMEA GPS receiver" with "GPS baud rate 115200" and "GPS in Com9"! Hope this helps others, Matt :D
