Guest Thistle Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Thats right folk we can now cross network with MMS, well to an extent :/ Orange and 02 are the first of the big 4 (or should it be 5 what with 3 set to launch soon?) to strike an agreement over cross net mms. So u will now be able to send and recieve pictures, text and sound to and from your friends on O2
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 3 is just going to eat up O2 anyway, as Hutchinson is using their network to patch the holes in their own...
Guest HelloDave Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Wasn't Hutchinson the old name for Orange? Who's network are 3 using then? O2's? I get confused too easily! I assume that 3 isn't going to create a totally new network, apart from in videoconferencing areas, so I guess they've got to use an existing one.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 3 are creating their own network, but its patchy, hence signing a deal with O2 to use their network and patch it up. Its been rumoured that this might in fact be just the start of a takeover....
Guest Pidder Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 I wish this would be true in Switzerland. It is not possible between Swisscom and Orange today (very annoying as most people with a MMS-phone i know have signed a Swisscom-contract :-(
Guest Thistle Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Wasn't Hutchinson the old name for Orange? Hutchinson used to own Orange, b4 selling up. And as Mono said they have signed an agreement with O2 to use there GSM network for calls mostly for out of town and rural purposes
