Guest Paul (MVP) Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 I don't really know why, but I always have had a thang for white phones... probably every since the white MoDaCo C600 :( Anyway, if I need to satisfy my white phone craving I now can courtesy of Orange, who have just launched a white version of the HTC Touch on pre-pay for a bargainalicious £149.99! You can find more details on the Orange shop page. Strangely according to the site this seems to be the 64MB RAM version, very odd... still a tasty little thing though :D P PS Note: Picture not from Orange...
Guest Ovie Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 That is so cheap! They're going for that price on eBay! Shame it's not the 256/128 version though..
Guest Ovie Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 I wonder if it's a misprint? P I was thinking the same thing, it just seems too good to be true though!
Guest silversurfer2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 I was thinking the same thing, it just seems too good to be true though! No its not a miss print thats the price there selling it for in the UK Orange Shops. I forgot to ask if Windows Live Messenger was on it.
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 I meant a misprint as in the memory size... P
Guest silversurfer2008 Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 (edited) As im using an SPV E650 at the moment I was quite interested to note the price drop of these White HTC Touch Phones. I was wondering if they had got the full windows live kit including windows live messenger as I wanted Orange Messenger as at present my phone is and Orange conversion from the HTC S710 so i would like things to match and as yet i cant find a free and legal version of Windows Live Messenger for SPV E650 also Orange Customer Services advised me that Orange Messenger is STILL not ready to go on any phone yet! Either way from the spec and the looks the HTC Touch is cool. I assume that as the price is dropping it will be soon replaced but hey its good for the consumer. MMMmm memory is always an issue more the better Andrew AKA Silversurfer2008 Edited April 29, 2008 by silversurfer2008
Guest Ovie Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 I meant a misprint as in the memory size... P Ahh yeah I got that, I was referring to the price as a separate issue sorry!
Guest shuurajou Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 I believe it's a missprint, it's the 128 MB RAM and 256MB ROM vers according to Orange cust services.
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 Who's gonna be the first to actually confirm this? I have to admit to being tempted myself :D lol! P
Guest Ovie Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 If it's confirmed, I think I'll sell my MDA Touch and get this. Would love to go back to white and have the ol' HTC logo again!
Guest travisbickle Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 There's no HTC logo. I just saw this instore and Orange have embellished their own mark onto the device.
Guest Ovie Posted May 1, 2008 Report Posted May 1, 2008 There's no HTC logo. I just saw this instore and Orange have embellished their own mark onto the device. Noooooooooo. Even on the front of it??
Guest Bakafrog Posted May 1, 2008 Report Posted May 1, 2008 Noooooooooo. Even on the front of it?? No on the front is the HTC logo. On the back there is a small Orange logo. Shame that no-one in the store was free to tell me what the memory was on it.
Guest it_ferret Posted May 1, 2008 Report Posted May 1, 2008 (edited) I can comfirm it's 128mb RAM. I was explorering my favourite sites last thursday (modaco and coolsmartphone) and sin you could get one for silly money, so i rang the orange shops around my area friday and they said they were expecting them in soon and to my suprise about an hour later Blackburn Orange shop rang me back (thank god for caller ID) and said that they had just arrived so to my excitment i got him to pop one under the counter and i'll pick it up later. Within half an hour of getting home i had it unlocked and flashed with a cooked rom WM 6.1 from another great site xda-developers (keep up the good work guys). So anyway enough of me getting excited over a phone..... i have posted some screen shot's of the Device ID. Also to confirm the front looks exactly like the pic above and the back says touch in the middle like above but does not have HTC at the bottom but has a very small orange logo at the top in the middle you also get a 1gb micro sd card with it plus stereo headphones a funky little HTC pouch and a screen protector which was nice plus all the usual gubbins. Guest it_ferret Posted May 1, 2008 Report Posted May 1, 2008 (edited) Super bargain then! Photos please :D P Here you go taken on the wifes new K850i stupid phone...............well it's not windows powered.....LOL Edited May 1, 2008 by it_ferret
Guest it_ferret Posted May 1, 2008 Report Posted May 1, 2008 (edited) Give me untill weekend and i'll try and do some more screen shots, as well as some decent pics with my proper camera. And maybe a little review......well i'd try. :D That's if anybody is interested? :( Let me know just post a reply....... Ps. If you decide to buy one you have to purchase £10 credit unless you already have an orange pay & go to which i don't nor do any of my mates, so i had to stump up the extra tenner but VERY well worth it. Guest silversurfer2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Report Posted May 1, 2008 So does the orange Unflashed Version have Orange Messenger, Windows Live Messenger or Plain Nothing? Personally having looked at the dummy i think the phone screen is a tad small for finger control.

Personally having looked at the dummy i think the phone screen is a tad small for finger control. I think it had windows live messenger on it but cant be certain as i always flash my window's phone with a cooked rom as soon as i get them. The screen is fine for finger poking, i have pretty standard hands/fingers definatly manly and i find it a breeze especially when you install the big start menu app plus pocket toolman which alows you to increase the scroll bar size.
Guest Ovie Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 Mate that is a bargain and a half, think I might take up this opportunity and sell my MDA Touch on eBay!
Guest timeline Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 Seems OK, but they're going for less than $100 CAD on a plan. For £149.99 you can get some hgher models surely?

Guest Br1an_g Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 got my wife one of these as she thought the white was pimping..lol.. she loves it. her first windows phone and no doubt not her last.
Guest kitkitkit Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 What is the CPU frequency(200 or 400Mhz), and does it have WiFi ?
