Guest Griff_FFOC Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 As it comes with it's own 1gb MicroSD card, I'm assuming I can install it to my own 4gb card. Thus having the Copilot and other files on the same card and negating the need to swap it out to use the satnav? Anyone done this, and/or had any issues with it? Cheers Griff
Guest jonlad Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 I have the same, it comes with a 1GB card version and a cd version. You dont even need the card, I installed the "Central" software from the cd on my PC and then you can choose which maps, voices, etc to install onto your activesync'd device. Also there may be upgrades available to newer versions than that on the card. My card version didn't include the "LIVE!" support where any web browser can be invited to track your GPS signal. This was upgraded through ALK's website. I've been very happy with it and the wife even knows how to work it !
Guest spacerace Posted April 26, 2008 Report Posted April 26, 2008 not wanting to install all the PC stuff I just copied the files using an SD adapter and a card reader. can confirm it worked with no problems.
Guest Griff_FFOC Posted April 26, 2008 Report Posted April 26, 2008 My 4gb card's not turned up yet. :D Can i install it from the 1gb card, and then just copy the files from the 1gb to the 4gb card when that turns up?
Guest spacerace Posted April 26, 2008 Report Posted April 26, 2008 can't see why not. if it did detect the change I think the worst you'd have to do is possibly reactivate the product.
