Silent Boot / Shutdown .CAB file ~ is it working?

Hi,

I downloaded the "Silent Boot / Shutdown" from

http://mobile.surrealnetworks.com/SDA%20ap...lent%20Boot.cab

and it doesn't seem to work for me.

So far, I've installed Google Maps .CAB from the same website and it works well, with the GPSTest.lnk shortcut edits.

Does it matter where you run/install the .CAB from? I usually put the .CAB files in the Temp directory and run it from there.

My apologies if I am breaking the rules on the forum with BUMPS....

Basically, I wish to "uninstall" this Silent Boot .CAB file since it didn't do anything to my phone and I don't know what the heck the .CAB did to my phone. It must have modified something in the registry and I have no idea what it did.

Is there a way to "uninstall" this .CAB? Sorry for the noob questions.

Never used Silent Boot, but from the name I would guess that it just changes the registry to remove the annoying twinkle-twonkle startup and shutdown sounds. You could do the same thing manually, but perhaps the CAB is easier. You won't necessarily "see" any difference, but you might hear it.

To remove it go into Settings, Remove Software (sorry, cant remember the full names on Smartphone), find the application in the list and remove it.

Thx for your reply. I just tried to navigate there and the Silent .CAB isn't on the list to remove. It's obviously some type of registry setting invoked. Is there another way to uninstall it?
