Guest SCMOMO Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 Did I miss something? I tried to run the Stella Atari 2600 emulator on my BJ2 and the buttons do not correspond to the screen and there appears to be no way to quit - I had to pul the battery out so I could use the phone as a phone again. All thoughts on what I messed up are appreciated.
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 From what I understand of the Steller emulator is it's designed for the pocketPC and not the Smartphone. This would account for the problems you have as you you not have a touch screen on your device.
Guest jsalzman Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 (edited) From what I understand of the Steller emulator is it's designed for the pocketPC and not the Smartphone. This would account for the problems you have as you you not have a touch screen on your device. I had the same problem. I contacted the developer and he gave me a version that should have worked, but there is something flakey with the BJII soft keys (like identifying SoftKey A, B, C, etc.). His version didn't work well. I don't fault him, he doesn't have a Smartphone to test it on. I did discover another solution by running the same Stella executable on a Pocket PC and reassigning a couple UI keys to the 4-way pad. I attached a new stella.ini file in a ZIP, with the changes. Just replace the stella.ini in your PocketStella folder with the one in the ZIP file. To go between the buttons on the ROMs screen, simply press LEFT or RIGHT and press the center button to select the item. ENJOY!!! :D BTW, you don't need to pull the battery to regain control of a failed Stella run (or any other program for that matter). Just hold down the HOME key for a few seconds. It'll bring up the task manager and you can select/end the Stella program from there.stella.zip Edited April 30, 2008 by jsalzman
