Google Maps - Not seeing Internet Connection

I have my BJII with unlimited data / tethering plan and have the Internet connection for Direct Push Exchange Mail, IE, and Windows Live Search all working fine. However, I downloaded Google Maps Mobile and installed it, but it fails to load any map data and times out with an error message that I'm not connected to the Internet...

Any ideas why GMM can't see my at&t data connection, but IE, Mail, and Live all work fine? I've tried with the IE Connection setting set to both WAP and Internet with no difference in the operation of any of the applications.
