Guest Palindrome Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 I was wondering how many people would like to see Opera release their browser for the SPV. http://www.opera.com/products/smartphone/smallscreen/ Currently there is a version for the P800 with their smallcreen rendering. Perhaps Opera can be persuaded, is enough people are interested.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 (again) Depends on SSR tech being implemented. I doubt they will change their desicion though. Thereg would have a field day ;p
Guest cyrilthefish Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 I would! the winCE IE seems to have a few features missing: no frames support (even a java app on my siemens old sl45i managed this) doesn't seem to cache anything (or is just this my SPV being wierd?) very slow on even medium-sized pages
Guest Richie M Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 I thought MS & Opera had a big bust up about Smartphone, and both swore that you would never see Opera on a Smartphone :?
Guest yatpeak Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 I think it'd be great! WyattToo bad it's not likely to happen though. Just have to hope... Wyatt
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 As I've just cancelled GPRS looks like I will not be needing it  but it would be nice if it became a reality for other people
Guest midnight Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 i would personally just like microsoft to wise up and improve the features of PIE to be honest. There is no reason why microsoft cant add all the features of Opera and add even more functionality, or, some smartphone coder whizz could just go ahead and make their own browser, be a nice little earner as i'm sure quite a lot of people would buy it if it had all the right features that people want. lets face it, the chances of seeing opera on the smartphone are slim to none
