Guest gadgetluva Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 Does anyone know how to load TomTom on the BJII? I had it on my Tilt and it was a great program, and blows away Garmin Mobile XT IMO. Any help?
Guest Sed8ed Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 No.....it wont work...last version for smartphone was Tom Tom 5.....newer maps wont work with it. Garmin is better IMO.....it takes some getting used to but works flawlessly. The map drawing could be better (has a delay of half second while scrolling/moving) but is totally useable. Hopefully Garmin will amend this in the future.........but for me it's still a one device solution. I used Tom Tom on my 8525 and it was aslo a great app.....but the BJII cant take advantage of it and I would rather have some GPS over none. Apparently Tom Tom 6 can be used but you need a cursor input application....these are buggy at the best of times. I am still glad I dont have to carry my BT GPS around. Garmin is it I am afraid for the BJII for a while (voice guided anyway)...

Guest gadgetluva Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 I was afraid of that. I've gone ahead and gotten Garmin XT and it's ok, but maps seem to be a bit outdated and it does take a while to calculate routes, but at least it works.

What map you using....it should be a 2008 Map!!!!.....Current. I havent come across a map yet that takes into account all changes in a given area..... I unfortunatley suffered this with Tom Tom as well...I agree the calculating route could be faster!!! It's still not a bad app for an all in one soultion...and it keep's getting better so that's nice!!
