Guest madu Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 I am having a problem with outlook and.or ActiveSync. When I sync, sometimes it misses out some entries.. So for example it would Sync a new contact's Name and Mobile, but not Home no. and not birthday date. Or do stupid things like this. For example all contacts are sync'd. I do: Orange Backup. Erase all entries (Outlook) Sync. All entries gone. Now Restore from OB Sync. Most nicely sync'd, but some only have contact's name and nothing else. Some are just missing partial info. I'm f. off. :x Note: I have 4 Folders in Contacts main folder. Only the main one syncs the other ones are just for storage. So if I go on business to Europe, I would swap contents of folders, sync and have a different phonebook in the phone.. Any clues??
Guest Lojt Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 I have a problem with it too. If i move an appointment on my spv from one day to another for example, it wont be moved in outlook...
Guest madu Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 YEP!! And that too - but it's justr some of them.. Yesterday I moved 3 appointments from yesterday to today (coz I spent all day on this site and had to do all that today he he).. And 2 of them moved correctly, but one still came up in a reminder being 6 hours overdue. What a load of crap!
Guest madu Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 I have a problem with it too. Is there a prob. with contacts too? Do you have folders in contacts??
Guest Lojt Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 No problem with contacts, i dont have folders.
Guest madu Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Bollox!! I guess I'm gonna be formatting my PC tonight.... Just got a full licensed 2processor ver. of XP. Sweeeeeet! And this syncing issue is pissing me off bigtime!
Guest tiita Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 double check that you installed outlook as corporate and workgroup: open outlook, select tools if at the bottom it says accounts you then need to reconfigure it if it says services it must be something else
Guest madu Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Thanks. Will have a look tonight when I get back to my PC. We have Lotus Notes at work - it's 100% shite! he hhe
Guest ClintEastman Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 What versions of Office are you using?
Guest ClintEastman Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 My sync problem was related to Office 11, Easy to fix but the problem isn't related to any other office.... It was to do with an "Update" to one of the .dlls, if you catch me drift....
Guest garymccl Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 See my post at http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...1650&highlight= I am having a similar problem. The back end of our email system is Groupwise though, although Outlook works fine with it, it doesn't sync appointments sent to me by other people (just appointments I have personally created). I'm using Outlook 2000 (not sure what version that is - 10?). I am told in the future though we are moving to the new version of Outlook, the one after XP as we are going to be testing it. I'm not sure if that's good news or not!? Apparently all this new MS stuff is made to work better for things like the SPV though, so it can only be good news for me.
Guest madu Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 hmmmmmmmm... new version of office... interesting. what about new ver of windows? special edition XP - seXP??
Guest ClintEastman Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Office 11 is the next version of Office (Office.Net, NGO My money goes on it being called Office 2003 to fit in with Windows 2003 Server). I can safely say that it all works A.O.K for me...
