Hi, that's exactly my question as well. Haven't the foggiest idea what it does. Tried turning it on and off and observing the Today screen for any appreciable differences, but sadly, there was none.

I may be wrong but perhaps it has something to do with the way SMS TEXT is displayed on the Main screen during IDLE MODE?

If I do uncover anything, will let y'all know...
