i616 and GPS

Did anybody got any luck getting i616 (North american version. Sold in canada. FIDO and Rogers) to work with GPS other than Telnav?

I installed Garmin. But it seems like it cannot find GPS device. It keeps scanning for "Attached" and i dont think it finds anyhting then quits.

Sotware's not unlocked...Garmin needs an activation code to unlock it for use with the intermediate driver. Otherwise it scans for a bluetooth device.

It'll find nothing unless it's unlocked. Nothing in these forums will unlock it for you!! The unlock is directly related to your device ID/IMEI number.

So basicaly i need to remove SIM lock before I can do anything?

I have gotten google maps to work with my fido i616 and it works great but canadian data plans cost to much and my 3rd month free is almost up...I am also stuck on the garmin thing, i have garmin mobile xt installed on my card but am stuck where you are aswell

NO!! The device id is generated when you buy Garmin XT...it's based loosely on your IMEI number (unique code).
