Guest JeepinCalifornia Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 I'd like to us a custom WAV file for the Keypress sound for my BJII... Placing the file in My Sounds, or Windows folder doesn't make it visible under Keypress sounds options, so I checked into the Registry (Local User, Control Panel, Sounds, Keypress) - tried adding a Script for "Sound" similar to what I was seeing for the other sounds (with the path to where the file is located), but I couldn't get it to work; maybe I need to remove a few of the other Registry Strings under Keypress...? Help, please?! Thanks!
Guest Allomancer Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Are you talking about the sounds under keypad control? If so, you can make your wav sounds and rename them the sounds that are already there. For example, record a burp and name it clear0.wav or lady0.wav. Then you drag it into your windows folder of your phone. BUT!!!! This will replace the sound that's already there!!! You have to save the original ones if you want to put them back without doing a hard reset. This technique worked with the start and shut down sounds. I haven't tried it with the key pad control, but was planning on it. Sorry... I don't mess much with the registry.

In the registry, you can find the path for the start up/shut down files (and thus, can can enter your own without overwriting files); so I'm just confused as to why there isn't a Reg Script for the Keypress.

Right above keypress is Dtmf# through Dtmf9. I'm not trying to fix this for you; you just got me curious to dig around in the registry.
