Best price for sim-free Diamond in the UK

Whilst trying to justify to myself the expense (esp from Expansys who seem to be overcharging massively) I have done a quick froogle, and this is the best I have found:

Total PDA £421.77 (inc vat and citylink shipping)

http://www.totalpda.co.uk/HTC/HTC-Diamond.7291.html

If you find yourself a discount code, such as "TDOFF15", you might get it even cheaper - plus remember Quidco for another 4% cashback :D but be quick, as they are only showing 3 in stock!

Any cheaper than that anyone? :D

Not that I've found, but "LeiChat" did a good job of scooting around for prices. (further up this thread)

I pre-ordered mine from Handtec and it's not due till tomorrow either - despite getting stock in yesterday the website said all yesterday that it wouldn't ship till today, so even if you'd placed your order before 4pm you wouldn't have got it before Friday :D

Mine's just arrived from Handtec - good grief it's small compared to my Vario II!

Haha, yes, likewise compared to my V3 :D

£395.20

on Expansys B-Stock now :D

8 in stock! Surely they haven't had any returned yet? Maybe the boxes are a bit bashed?....

Must find that £10 voucher..... tempted by the sub-£400 price...

EDIt - seems HTC and eXpansys are having a set-too about grey imports - might be worth giving a miss to get the two year warranty? eXpansys tried taking HP on re. importing iPaq units and lost....

2nd Edit - the returns are from customers not happy getting a HK version handset under distance selling regs. HTC Europe have 'orphaned' them saying they won't warrant them etc, eXpansys say they will cover the 2yrs. They can't be registered at HTCEurope for updates but can on the HK website. eXpansys are pulling posts / threads in the forums regarding this issue :-(

IMO give them a miss on this one!

Wait for contract version?

I've done a phone free upgrade for the last few years with o2.

As I'm not taking a phone they've given me half price line rental and a credit on my account.

£10 a month for 500 texts and 300 minutes (off-peak any network)

First year I got a £100 credit, last year just £70 I think.

I think of it as £190 towards a sim free handset.

If I wait for a contract deal, my line rental is gonna go back up to £20 a month if they allow me to stay on my current tariff.

As it's still a cheap tariff they'll probably charge me the highest fee for the handset, the TyTnII currently is £240.

I might save about £100 ish if you take in to account the increased line rental etc. but it will probably be the o2 version of the phone etc.

Tempted to just go for sim free from Handtec as my contract doesn't expire till Sept this year.

As long as I keep the phone for a few years again the saving on line rental each year, if I can hagle the line credit too will eventually pay for the sim free handset.

What do you reckon?

Wait til the contract version.....

Then buy one off eBay that someone gets as an unwanted upgrade :D

Then buy one off eBay that someone gets as an unwanted upgrade :(

Then wait 'till the make an inusrance claim 3 months later and it gets barred :D

Happens, especially on higher-value phones eg iPhone, HTc devices, Armani / Prada styled phones. Less likely on a £30 Nokia..

I've bought a Universal, an Athena and an E90 (aand probably others that I've forgotten) and never had a problem.

Maybe I'm just to trusting...
