Guest JeepinCalifornia Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 So I'm debating Hard Reseting to clean-up the system a bit... The only reservation I have is that Garmin XT is working! I have Garmin on my memory card: which leaves a small Garmin folder in my device's memory, a shortcut in the start menu, and [probably?] some Registry info. Is it as simple as backing up all this info and throwing it back onto the phone after a hard reset? Or, can I simply save the gmapsupp.unl and sw.unl files and reinstall GarminXT, substituting those saved UNL files after it's reloaded? I wish I had saved those GarminXT instructions (cough, cough, PM me, cough). I've posted elsewhere, but have not received an answer: the main reason I may do this hard reset is beacuse after removing Coreplayer, I cannot view any sort of picture file unless I go through "My Stuff." I should be able to browse the system via File Explorer or Total Commander and open a picture, yes?

Make sure you remove you memory card before the reset. Re-insert the card after the reset and the device will ask you if you want to install Garmin, choose yes and it will install automatically. The only downside is that you will lose all your Garmin settings and saved Favorite's. All in all, not a bad trade off though.
