Okay, first off, Hello, I'm Mike, and this is my first post. I love this site, it has all my mobile phone needs covered.

Now on to my actual problem/question.

Whenever I try to modify my phone sounds (i.e the shutter sounds), nothing works. I have assumed my phone is unlocked after running the GPS unlocker made by the developers here, and many other things. Restarting it after each one. No matter what I get, connecting with Vista ActiveSync or an XP, it still says I do not have permission to modify that file...I do believe it is unlocked though, because I was able to change the ringtone max size.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Go to this website, http://www.gpcarreon.com/?p=151 scroll down, and download the SDA application unlock. See if that works, and also...edit the file actually from the phone. look for Total Commander CE (google it). It allows you to do probably more...strait from your phone, without using your computer.

I too am having this problem. I tried the option above and it didn't work. Wouldn't let me open it on my phone (says it's not a Windows CE file).

I was successful in downloading RJ and Smartmonitor (I think..) which ran fine when I did it. But, I still couldn't get the home screens which required those plug ins to work.

Now, I did install an app unlocker prior to doing all that.

Yet despite that app unlocker, there are other items that I try to get and keep getting the cannot be viewed error.

I cleared out everything (no, not a hard reset) that I downloaded and decided to start over. I downloaded on registry editor and it said one key couldn't be found so it couldn't be used.

Removed it.

I've tried loading the registry software to both the "Program Files" and the "Application Data/Home" folders through PC to phone sychning, then, running the apps from the phone. Still got the error.

I did download the Total Commander and it runs on the phone. But, I can't find the HKLM>Security>Policies>Policies key with the TC when I scroll on the phone.

Downloaded another WM reg editor and it gave me the cannot be viewed error. I'm so frustrated with this.

The SDA aplication unlocker doesnt run off of the phone, you plug your phone into your computer via USB or Bluetooth then you run the SDA unlocker from your computer, do not place the file onto your phone.
