Using 3G Phone as Modem

In another post there were instructions on how to use my Q9h as a modem. Unfortunately I didn't understand the details so I added a question which no one has addressed in several days. Perhaps it's more appropriate here.

Here's the question I asked. Any help would be most welcome.

I have an ATT Q9h recently purchased, with data plan.

I'm syncing happily with my XP sp3 laptop using software from ATT motorola CD

Questions:

1) Does this setup mean that I already have the necessary USB drivers for this to work or will I need something else? If so, where would I get it? The link in the post is general to the motorola store wanting to sell me something, not a driver download site.

2) What would be the equivalent ATT info for the login info - when I go to the ATT site they only want my phone number, not any sort of username?
