Charging sound

OK, this is probably a very basic question. But I searched these forums and could not find an answer.

When I plug my BJII into the charger it often (but not always) plays a little jingle/alarm/tone sound. How do I shut this off? Even with all of the rings, alarms and notifications turned off, it still sometimes plays a sound when plugged into the charger. It is not consistent though. Sometimes the sound plays and sometimes it does not. I want it to be completely silent. Let's say I am pulling a B&E in some rich lady's house and I need to stop and charge my phone. I don't want to wake anyone up and have the cops all over me. Make sense?

Thanks.

As a Literature major I can appreciate the creativity but that's kind of a creepy example, bro. :D

The way I've found to turn off that charging/connecting sound--or any system sounds for that matter--on the fly, is to turn turn the "Earpiece Volume" all the way down by using the rocker switch. I don't know why Smasung labeled it "Earpiece," as it's a bit misleading; but I suppose if the speaker is also the earpiece...

The way I've killed all the other annoying sounds is to find out which audio file is being used to make the sound. Then make a version of it that is short and silent and overwrite the existing one. It's likely marked as a system file so overwriting it requires the phone to be unlocked but there are instructions in the forum on doing that. I checked all the sounds that come up in Settings/Sounds and can't find it so you may have to search the \Windows directory for it and try them out until you find the right sound. I did this with the startup and shutdown sounds and it works.

Awesome, this worked! Lowering the "Earpiece" volume to nothing completely silences the charging sound.

Sorry for the creepy example. The truth is, I like to read Mobipocket books in bed at night. When I plug in the charger, the sound wakes up my wife and she gets insanely angry.
