I320 problems

Hello everyone:

Im new to the forum as well as the whole unlocked phone deal(bought from tigerdirect.com) and I might be asking some simple questions, but I cant find any info or instructions to set up my I320. While I found the same problems across the net, it seems ppl dont or have not updated their post and nothing for me to follow.

I really like this phone and really want to give it a shot. I currently have Tmobile FL USA and my problems are as listed.

-No bars, but not roaming, can still make outgoing calls

-Can not pick up incoming calls, phone flashes but I cant pick up.

-Will not log missed calls (when above happens)

-I can only send SMS/MMS messages, can not receive.

-Phone # is not saved in Call Options

Im not currently using the phone for its browser, so at this time im not going to get into that (even though thats all over the net). Im just a text whore and feel really comfortable with the setup of the i320 and its the reason why I bought the phone. Im really optimistic that i'll be able to use this phone... Please dont tell me I bought a $150 paper weight.

Any help will be great! Thanks in advance.

So what happens when you try and take an incoming call?

Have you tried a hard reset / clear storage?

i320 is only tri-band,it's missing the 850mhz band. US t-mobile IIRC is on the 1900Mhz band.

From the details from another poster, these compUSA / tigerdirect handsets are european imports from Spain having Movistar settings as the default. We don't use the 1900 band in Europe.

Go into the settings / phone settings and make sure then band selection is set to auto or 1900 Mhz.

It would explain a lot of your issues. Some networks that were created from other cell providors ( eg t-mob) have some legacy capacity on other frequencies despite their 'main' frequency being different.
