Will definitely get a 6 cell when available.

Thankfully the Advent is black underneath, so the standard black 6 cell should look fine!

Should the MSI battery work fine? Or do you need the specific Advent one?

Oh and joke I read earlier ... "I just broke my WIND .... I can smell it!"

Where did you get your ram from Paul?

Better still do you have a link to the exact stuff?

Thanks

:D

Will post more tomorrow, but I now have OSX on my Advent Wind :(

Working:

- 10.5.4 Vanilla Kernel

- Accelerated graphics

- Ethernet

- Webcam

- USB

- Card reader

- Sleep

- Bluetooth

Not working:

- Wifi (working on this)

I had WiFi working great with the Broadcom card from my wife's laptop, but she didn't see the funny side of me 'borrowing' it :o I've ordered a dell broadcom based card on eBay for 12.99, but would prefer to get the inbuilt WiFi working.

I have upgraded to 2GB RAM and 160GB HDD (same model line as the original). There is NO warranty sticker on the Advent, and i've also updated to the latest (MSI!) BIOS.

Once WiFi is working, this is gonna be one sweet little portable OSX machine! Looking forward to the 6 cell battery tho

Bargain:

To do:

- Get WiFi sorted

- Work out if I can swap the alt and windows physical keys on the keyboard to match the mac layout

- Work out if I can remove the advent logo from the lid :D

It's not flawless yet, particularly the non working WiFi (with the shipped card), but it's pretty damn sweet! :D

Paul, thanks for your help via email over the weekend.

I'm not going to go into a huge rant, as I will get angry again... but PC World screwed up. I drove a round trip of 2 hours to find that they had sold the laptop which I had reserved.

Not a happy bunny AT ALL!

So much so, that I wrote a very lengthy complaint to them, which I do not expect to be given any attention at all.

I'm considering contacting my partner's aunt in Germany, and getting her to ship me the Medion Akoya netbook (at least the wifi works with OSX on that one).

Anyway, thanks for the help ... I'll update you all if/when I get one!

Doh! That sucks! :(

I've now got processor speed clocking working on mine (deets), swapped the physical alt and windows keys (deets) to match the Apple layout and i'm just trying a new audio kext (deets)!

Loving it!

:D
