Guest clockwork58 Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 U all know it. Your on the phone but your BJ2 is down to the last bar. Every 30 seconds or so the earpiece will give you an audible chime to let you know your battery is low. Is there any setting or reg hack to disable this annoyance? thx.
Guest nyhunter77 Posted June 28, 2008 Report Posted June 28, 2008 Just curious about this myself. See if turning the phone to silent on the call works. i.e. press power and use silent mode while on the call. Next time I get a chance I'll give it a try also. Hopefully it will silence my calendar alert as well while i'm on an "important" call. I have a slightly different prob where I want to keep the calendar alert on the screen but stop the sound in my ear. Let me know how this works for u. Thanks
Guest clockwork58 Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 Hmm. ok peeps. help me out. i'm almost there. I've found that the file is 'alert-Attention.wma' in the BJ's '/Windows/' directory. Now in the registry is it found at: HKCU/ControlPanel/Sounds/LowBattery For the registry key String 'Sound' I tried to remove the 'alert-attention.wma' and leave it blank but it won't allow me. So i figure I can do one of three things: 1) Replace 'alert-Attention.wma' file with a blank version of the file. 2) What can I put in the registry string instead of 'alert-Attention.wma'? 3) Remove the 'Sound' registry entry string altogether. Can anyone who has some experience with reg hacking know if it is safe to do option #3 or know what type of null value I can place for Option #2. Thanks
Guest Nottach Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 Try changing alert-Attention.wma to alert-Attention.000 or alert-Attention2.wma . I believe that would work.
Guest clockwork58 Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 Try changing alert-Attention.wma to alert-Attention.000 or alert-Attention2.wma . I believe that would work. Sweet. I went with Option #1 route, and didn't alter the registry. I took the alert-attention.wma, used nero wave editor to edit the sound and keep the last half second of the sound (which is dead air) and copied it back over to the Windows/ directory on the BJ2 and voila. Now when my battery is low, I no longer have that annoying chime in the earpiece. I've attached the edited file should anyone else wish to use. =)Alert_Attention.zip
Guest Nottach Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 nice. but i kind of need that alert, lets me know its time to "wrap it up"(chapelles show reference).
Guest clockwork58 Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 nice. but i kind of need that alert, lets me know its time to "wrap it up"(chapelles show reference). I know what you mean, but the phone still gives me the visual and audio alert when going from 2 battery bars to 1. But I don't need it telling me every 30 seconds the battery is low while on call. Personal preference. C'est la vie.
