Guest ncarbone Posted June 29, 2008 Report Posted June 29, 2008 As of yesterday, my bjii does not charge with the wall adapter while it is turned on. When I plug it in I hear the connection chimes, but instead of getting a red LED, I get a blinking yellow LED for about 10 seconds, similar to when I plug it in via USB for activesync. After the yellow LED goes away the phone just sits there and doesn't charge. I turned the phone off and plugged it in and sure enough it started charging right away. Then I also tried charging it while power on with the USB cable and that worked too. Why won't it charge on the wall charger while turned on????????? I've tried closing all applications as well including AS

Guest hagie92 Posted June 29, 2008 Report Posted June 29, 2008 I would try charging it while it was off and then turn it on and see if you still get the problem. It could so low that it cant run the phone, and charge at the same time. I know that sounds stupid...but it is a possibility! hagie92
Guest ncarbone Posted June 29, 2008 Report Posted June 29, 2008 I've charged it full while off, then when it was down to like 80% tried charging it while on and still no luck. but ONLY WITH THE WALL CHARGER! ???? with USB it charges fine... wt?F! and I don't have that setting mentioned in Power Management under Settings. perplexing.

I have the same issue as you, exactly the same. Only thing I have found to cure it is a full charge with the phone turned off and then it will charge again on usb and wall charger. Maybe we should compare what programs we have installed if we're the only ones.

Guest MadSci Posted July 2, 2008 Report Posted July 2, 2008 I see this ocasionally. I have found two causes/fixes. The first cause is the conenctor cover design. Samsung seems addicted to these covers, that while attractive and functional. have a fundamental design flaw. The pivot point is too close to the edge of the opening, and there is a part of the cover that projects past the pivot. Together these result in there being a part of the cover that sits right beside the connector opening when the cover is swiveled "out of the way". A lot of chargers use connectors that project too far to the side of the port and they end up being interfered with by the cover when inserted into the port. Some are more subject to problems than others, with the inexpensive semi-generic connectors coming out of China being more of a problem than those from Samsung, although even those can foul up. So some of the time I just have to be scrupulously careful about how the connection is made, and then the problem goes away. Ocasionally I see this even when I'm taking unusually good care of the connection. I can almost always fix it by doing a soft reset (shutting down and re-booting). Remember, it's a Windows machine, so 99% of 'weird' things go away when you reboot. Hope this helps. MadSci
Guest Sed8ed Posted July 2, 2008 Report Posted July 2, 2008 I see this ocasionally. I have found two causes/fixes. MadSci Me too. My fix if the wall charge isnt occuring is to power off the device and pull the battery, leave for 5 minutes. Place battery back in and it will charge properly from the wall again.....It's only happened to me twice and is annoying but can be overcome.
