Guest chucky.egg Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 It seems to me that Pocket Outlook is deleting/forgetting appointments that are created once a Direct Push sync has been initiated. I use CallHistory2Calendar to automatically record my calls in my calendar after each call. It's a GREAT app that Paul wrote and is free to Plus members. I also use Direct Push for my calendar, set to "As Items Arrive". So, after a call my device records the call details in the calendar, which then triggers an update to my Exchange account. Now, after a phone call but before the sync completes, if I create a new appointment it vanishes after the sync It's hard to replicate because syncs are usually very quick Anyone else seen this and can reassure me that I'm not going mad?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 Hmmm, not seen this personally (just got my head around what you mean). Does it still happen if you have CH2C uninstalled? P
Guest chucky.egg Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 Will try to play around and see what situations it occurs in I've seen it a few times after ending a call, when I've put in an appt which I then cant find - one thing I've not been sure about though is whether I'm setting the wrong date for the appt!
Guest Confucious Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 Nah. You're probably just going mad.... :D
Guest chucky.egg Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 As it turns out I'm not! so there! ner ner! :D It did it again this morning - I created an appointment when I was in 3G coverage. Checked the appt time when I got home (no coverage initially) and it was gone. Created it again Checked it again later (GPRS coverage) and it was gone again! Created it again No calls were made or received at or near the time I created it, so it can't be CallHistory at fault. It's just weird, and one of the little annoyances of WM that have been bugging me more and more lately - the most important functionality to me has become, very ccassionally, unreliable - so now I don't feel like I can fully trust it. /looks up the price of an E71
Guest jimbouk Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 Is it your own server? If so, look at the logs.
Guest chucky.egg Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 No, it's hosted by Sherweb. The problem is I doubt I will ever get to the bottom of it - It's intermittent and could be the handset, the data connection, activesync, the exchange service, some other application, or even me! If I hadn't noticed it that "missing" appointment would have cost me £250 and loads of hassle. BTW I found the best price for E71's is £288 here. The one (fairly big) issue for me is that Mail For Exchange on Nokia's doesn't sync subfolders in your Inbox - RoadSync does, but costs $50 and might have reliability issues (sounds familiar)
Guest chucky.egg Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 TLR's WM6.1, but I think this was happening before I changed from the Vodafone WM6.0 one it came with. I have vague recollections of this happening on my Touch before that, but I can't be sure enough to rule out the device. The worrying thing is that I might not notice next time. I'll try some tests to see if I can figure out what the circumstances are, but what then? that won't actually fix the problem I'm sorely tempted to eBay the Tytn II (only had it a few weeks! gutted) and get the E71 - I've still got the Touch (albeit with a slightly scuffed screen) if I cant get on with S60.
