Guest bhalford Posted November 28, 2002 Report Posted November 28, 2002 evening all, a newby question I'm afraid I just got my 2nd SPV today (the 1st one had an intermittent nav button fault after 2 days!!) and have tried unsuccesffully again to get my XP Pro desktop to talk to it via the USB cradle. I've uninstalled, deleted USB root hubs etc and its still sitting there 'connecting'. I've just got off the phone to Orange and they say Microsoft are aware of the problem, are working on a solution, but don't know when the patch is going to be released. The Link in Peterborough gave me Hayes UK (spelling?) number and they couldn't help either and referred me back to Orange. Is this a hardware or software issue, has anyone got a workaround (I've tried Pauls) or am I taking this back tomorrow until SPV 2003 comes out given that this is a we bit fundamental? thanks in advance
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 Did you get it working? Do you your have AntiVirus or Firewall software disabled? P
Guest bhalford Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Yup, just as you said. Appologies I put out the solution in a seperate message.
Guest chewie Posted December 11, 2002 Report Posted December 11, 2002 Well get this, my activsync was working fine until yesturday. Nothing has changed and now the PC just will not see the phone. Whats even more crazy is the PC makes the "activsync" connected blip sound when i plug the phone in!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 11, 2002 Report Posted December 11, 2002 I had similar to chewie except suddenly activsync decided my spv was now a guest :? so I had to create a new connection?
