Guest tsutton Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 This afternoon, I was caught on camera by the Google Maps Car as I drove past it in Norwich! Wonder how long they will process it until being made public on their website due to this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7492844.stm
Guest ~Rob Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 It was in Norwich! I heard of a sighting in Brum a couple of weeks ago. Where in the city were you? I drove through Ber Street and up Theatre Street at 3pm but didn't notice it. If I had I think my gf would have given me that worried look she does when I get exited about technology
Guest tsutton Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 LOL, they got me on Ber Street! Around 4pm or so, which means you've missed it by 1 hour!
Guest tsutton Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/art...or-Britain.html The very same car that I saw!
Guest ~Rob Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 An Opel rather than Vx... interesting. Ok, not really, but I would have expected an English-bought car from the googleplex. Maybe they should have done street view down Ber Street at night. Then people would get annoyed about being caught on camera :D
Guest tsutton Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 The funny thing is... it's an 08 reg! So might be imported from Europe...
Guest ~Rob Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 (edited) Look what I found sleeping! For those that would like to stalk it, it's on a side street just off St Augustines Edited July 27, 2008 by ~Rob
Guest tsutton Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 Good find. Wonder if Google pays someone to drive around and call them up when they need some data...
Guest ~Rob Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 Well it seems to be a black Astra according to the sighting I heard of in Brum and both references in this article. I'm assming it's the same car as you never seem to get two sightings in the same day from different areas. One thing to think about is that St. Augustines is permit holders only so I guess they're employing local people to do the driving
Guest ~Rob Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 (edited) bah, looks like I'm too late: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&....496094&z=5 Look at the top image for norwich. Same location Edited July 27, 2008 by ~Rob

Guest tsutton Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 Google Map car got me AGAIN yesterday afternoon, around 5pm! :D This time, it was leaving Gypsy Lane, going toward the roundabout, which I think they was heading toward UEA. So I will need to find myself when the photos are online.

Guest deadphill Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 It got me on the roundabout on the a1 at Borehamwood, I think its stirling corner, a couple of weeks ago. Oooh Diss. I was there yesterday, well I think I drove through. I had to go to Gt Yarmouth, Kings Lynn and Norwich police stations! Should have stopped to say hello and have a cuppa. Could have done with it I was knackered when I got home! Does google mention anything about when the images will be online? Cheers Phill
