Guest ~Rob Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 I nearly started a thread full of accessories for the Diamond but realied it's a bit pointless without testing them all. Basically, while I like the PO S390 case, I find it a bit annoying to keep slipping it out of the case (said the actress, etc) everytime I want to check for a text. I was thinking about this as I'm less likely to press a button I shouldn't (like volume, or hang up). The other thing is Screen Protectors. I've read lots about the Martin Fields ones, but I'm not ready to part with that much cash for a bit of plastic. I don't actually think a SP is needed if the phone's in a case because there's never much need to use the stylus so I can't see myself scratching the screen playing freecell like I did with the Hermes. Finally... desktop cradles. I don't need one of these, but it would be useful, especially if I buy a second battery and these seem like a good price. I'm sure the official one looks much better, but at the end of the day, I'm not paying £30 for a glorified USB cable. Oh, and are the old Y-splitters compatible with the Diamond? I've not looked for one yet, but I guess there's plenty on ebay. After all this, maybe an accessories sticky would be nice :D

This one looks like it does though: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dock-USB-Cradle-Char...p3286.m14.l1318
Guest ~Rob Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 Well spotted. I think you may be right. I just found this that reminds me of the cable that came with the SE W750. I doubt I'll want both plugged in at once, but it's nice to have the option. The main advantages to this over others I've found is that it has a mic and the two sockets are in one piece of plastic. Plus 3.5mm jack means I can get some Seinheissers (sp?) or equivalent
Guest Neil5459 Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 My Orange Diamond came with the PO S390 slip case. The old HTC Audio adapter works fine with the Diamond as well, for connecting decent headphones and keeping a microphone. Also, the Headphone/USB adapter that Paul did the bulk order for some time back fits OK.
Guest ~Rob Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 I've got the slip case, it's just not quite right for my pedantic self :D I've ordered the adaptor off ebay now, so I should receive it in a month or so
Guest darthbane2k Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 (edited) I've got the slip case, it's just not quite right for my pedantic self :D If you're UK based, i'll be happy to buy it off you Edited July 11, 2008 by darthbane2k
Guest spacerace Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 I'd like a case that had a window so you could see caller id etc. Then it could sit in the case with a bluetooth headset with no danger of it getting scratched.
Guest Alkali Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 (edited) Left to me "INVISIBLE SHIELD" is the best of all accesories. It will cover your device for years without any scratch and one additional advantatage it will eradicate the the thumb print magnet issue. Please try it gentle members :D Edited July 11, 2008 by Alkali
Guest LeiChat Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 Looks pretty cool. http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/htc-to...ins-shields.php Reminded me of these which I bought a few of to swap around on my nano. http://www.gelaskins.com/
Guest Snoopstah Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 I have an Invisible Shield on my iPod and it's awful - tricky to fit (if you're a perfectionist), and it has a texture to it that's not very nice even just covering plastic, let alone a gorgeous 640x480 screen. Looking at photos (which I should have done before) I haven't seen a single InvisibleShield installation on any device that I'd be happy with :D On the other hand, my Martin Fields protector arrived today for the Diamond - never used them before so I was a little wary of spending so much on another 'trendy' protector, but I'm much more impressed. Still takes ages to fit if you want to get it right (about 35 minutes for me) but once it's on you really wouldn't know it. InvisibleShield is definitely tougher if you plan on using a rock as a improvised stylus or something though...

Also, the Headphone/USB adapter that Paul did the bulk order for some time back fits OK. Slight ressurection, but I got mine today and can't get very good radio reception. Is it just the one I got off ebay or are they all like this?
Guest Neil5459 Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 Slight ressurection, but I got mine today and can't get very good radio reception. Is it just the one I got off ebay or are they all like this? Was it a genuine HTC item? If so it ought to work with the FM Radio. Others won't as they lack some of the necessary connectors.
Guest _dg Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 If anyone can help , I'm looking for a leather case - but of the "book" type ones and in brown/tan. And not the ADVERTISING SPAM ones either. yuk.
Guest benoutram Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 I've got the ADVERTISING SPAM aluminium case and its great. The only thing is that I already had one of these for my Vario II and it suffered worse reception in the case than without it. Its too early to tell if the Diamond suffers from the same problem.
