Guest Curious D Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Hi. I just purchased a Micro SDHC card for my wife's Blackjack 2. I tried to use the adapter to format the card through my SD reader on my laptop. When it didn't work, I realized that it was because my SD card reader is not SDHC compatible. I began to wonder if there was a program that might be able to help me format the 4GB card through the phone. The card actually does work on the phone, but I'm wondering if WM5torage will work on a "properly" formatted micro SDHC card and I'm wondering if having a "properly" formatted card will help the programs and files to be recognized by the phone and other programs. Thanks.
Guest hagie92 Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 First, I would try upgrading the drivers for the SD slot on your laptop. Find out the brand, and go to their website to check. You may can also try your computer manufactures website for some help. The card should already be formatted to work with the phone, but its alot easier to use the SD slot on your computer then to use the included USB cable. Faster too... Hope it helps, Hagie92
Guest Toilet Duk Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 Start->Settings->Security->Reset and choose just "Storage Card" to format it. Also, I believe SDHC compatibility with SD readers is a hardware limitation, not driver level.
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 SDHC compatability if firmware dependant not hardware.
