Guest Confucious Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Because you don't have GPS turned on and it is getting your position from triangulation of cell masts.

Guest slugshot_90 Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 well i turned gps on and it never finds any satellites, but my friend finds them fast is it because of some program he has called quick gps and if so were ca i get it
Guest Confucious Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 QuickGPS is an HTC program that comes with HTC phones, it is not available separately. Have you enabled GPS and followed all the instructions for the BJII in these forums?
Guest slugshot_90 Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 i did enable gps but it just keeps searching for satellites even when i go outside and it is a clear sky and i have full 3g bars. there instructions for it on the forums? could you post a link to the thread plz
Guest Confucious Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 (edited) How long did you leave it? First fix can take up to 15 mins with clear line of site to satellites. Your 3G signal is totally irrelevant -it does not need any signal except being able to 'see' the satellites. A simple look through this forum found http://www.modaco.com/content/samsung-i617...it-work-or-not/ but I am sure there are many more. Edited July 15, 2008 by Confucious
Guest aethermade Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 I had to download and run TeleNav once in order to get google maps and windows live to work. You might try that. I also ran that unlock program, but that was before I ran Telenav.
Guest gtg465x Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 First open GPSTest.exe (it's in your Windows directory) and then open Google Maps. You'll get a fix after a few minutes.

Gpstest wasn't on my blackjack II. You can download it here though: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=869416
