Guest JonStatt Posted July 19, 2008 Report Posted July 19, 2008 Hi, I just received my MDA Compact IV. First I checked it for stuck pixels and it all seemed okay...but then I went to the camera. When using the camera, I see what looks like 3 stuck pixels...2 red close together and 1 blue. The stuck pixels do NOT show up on the final photos. I believe this is referred to by camera users as a Hot pixel as it shows up when the CCD is hot. I just wondered if others had seen this? It is easy to try...just go into camera mode and cover your hand over the lens. Do you see any coloured dots? Not sure whether to complain about it or not, because the stuck pixels are not on the screen itself or show up on the pictures...just annoying when using the phone as the viewfinder. Also on a sidenote...I find I have to press quite hard on the touch screen....harder than an iPhone for example. Is that normal?
Guest amd7000 Posted July 19, 2008 Report Posted July 19, 2008 yea, I noticed that you have to be quite firm with the touch screen too. I've got used to it now though.

Guest JonStatt Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 After doing some more testing. If you I let the device cool down first (i.e. screen off for a while), then go to use the camera, the pixels don't show up for about 15-20 seconds. Then the red one starts to flicker on and off. It is definitely the camera's CCD sensor though....and is definitely related to how the CCD heats up...It is therefore a hot pixel problem. Nobody else trying this out on theirs?
