Guest emsoftsys Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 After updating the phone I thought I would unlock, however, after turning off the phone and then turning back on the phone holding the voice memo button the phone goes very quickly to the Canary screen not allowing me to hold down the action button and get to the menu allowing me to 'Erase the IPSM data'. Please help I would love to be able to play my gameboy games on the phone

Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 I had this and the only way I could get to the boot screen was to insert my 8MB card that I put my IPSM on. On start up it says card found and then it gives you enough time to do the press to get to the boot screen. Posted origionaly here http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...=asc&highlight=
Guest fixit Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 I can answer this one mate, I had a real 'mare working this out. See the thread I posted below - the method advocated by 'Ste' is definitely the way to go, the other way I really couldn't get on with. http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...ighlight=#16081 Let me know if this sorts it.
Guest frijj2k Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Like awarner said, insert the SD card... it slows the process down a lot.... says card found and so gives u time to press and hold the action key. I had this problem and inserting the ard worked fine for me (Although i did ave a similar problem with my old SPV but that was because the action kety was buggered... got a brand new handset now though with no scratches :-) ) Dave
Guest emsoftsys Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Hey fixit, that fixed it..... 'top banana', thanks Adrian
Guest alkis_y3k Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 How can you unlock the phone by erasing the IPSM data? I have done a hard reset and it still asks me for the pin.. Is there a way to unlock the phone easily?
Guest Gorskar Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 What do you mean? The PIN isnt in the IPSM data. Unlocking requires more than just a hard reset. Read the instructions in the sticky thread at the top of the forum.
