Guest KrayzieFox Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 Does anyone know if it's possible to switch profiles using the Silent button, but doing it without holding it down?
Guest iain1237 Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 Does anyone know if it's possible to switch profiles using the Silent button, but doing it without holding it down? There must be a registry fix for this, but not sure. You could always just press the button on top and change profile, not too hard.
Guest john redcorn Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 Does anyone know if it's possible to switch profiles using the Silent button, but doing it without holding it down? I've read it here or howardforums (never tried it though since I don't need to) that you can edit the silent profile to your liking (ring, vibe etc) and the silent button will go to that and back to your previous one you were using before you pushed it. and if you need a silent profile you edit one of the others to make it silent but no longer accessible by the silent button. Know what I really miss that it seems only cheap nokias had? Timed profiles. go into a restaraunt at 20:00 tell it to be in the vibrate profile until 21:30 and at 21:30 it goes back to what you were on previously.

WM phones kind of do that with the automatic profile, which switches from Normal to Vibrate when whatever appointment you have in outlook changes your status to busy.
Guest KrayzieFox Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 That's all good info, but not quite what I'm looking for. I just want to change the Silent button from having to hold it down, to just pressing it once.
Guest hagie92 Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 Microsoft actually was smart about this one, the silent button was designed to be held down just incase of accidental button pressing on your part, say you were texting and hit this, but nothing happened, so you didnt really think much of it...but then people are trying to call you all day...and you happen to pull your phone out to see 20 missed calls. The 3 second hold on the silent is there for this purpose, and I dont see why you would want to mess with that, but im sure it would be a registry edit. probably not what you wanted to hear, but... -hagie92
Guest watttryan Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 http://myblackjack2.com/forum/forum_3/chan...h=1&ret=all visit that link, its actually very easy and requires no software/registry hacks its built into your phones settings. you basically go to start--->>setttings---->>Profiles---->>silent ----->>>menu----->>edit just go to the link above it has all the right settings.
