Guest tamirtheredlion Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 So I have owned my T-mobile MDA ever since it first came out. I have yet to find a phone that compares to it which is one of the reasons why I still own it. There have been phones that could do things better then the MDA, however the overall comparison was no contest to my phone. For instance, The IPhone outmatch's my phone in memory, software, and somewhat looks. However, in features and hardware it lacks to me and is limited. Not that it really matters, but the price is also not worth the phone. So here is what I am asking for. I am asking for a phone that is equal to or better then the USA T-mobile MDA. That means that this phone must do everything that the MDA can do and/or more. The phone must have: - Touch Screen - A Memory Card Slot. (Very Important) - 1.3 Megapixel Camera or higher version. - Infrared port. - Mini Usb Port - Bluetooth - Windows Mobile Version 5.0 or Higher (Exceptions include different model phone; I.E. Nokia) - Be on T-mobile or able to unlock I have searched around and have not personally found a phone that compares to it yet. If someone can find any phone(s) that are better, then please list them. I would appreciate your time spent searching. If the phone does not include any of the mandatory things listed above with the exception of an alternative, then I'm not interested. T-mobile MDA Features: Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 software for Pocket PC for compatibility with Windows Mobile applications and designed to match and transpose the Outlook desktop experience Built-in 1.3-megapixel with video recording and playback capabilities Integrated MP3 audio player via Microsoft Windows Media Player 10 and MP3 ringtone support Conference calling with integrated hands-free speakerphone Enhanced T9 predictive text for messaging via Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), chat (AOL, MSN, and Yahoo! Messenger), and email (POP3, IMAP4, SMTP) Personal Information Management (PIM) features including Microsoft Outlook, Contacts, and To-Do List Bluetooth wireless technology for hands-free connectivity, Wi-Fi connectivity for hotspot access, and infrared port for synchronization WAP 2.0 compliant Pocket Internet Explorer browser with EDGE technology for high-speed data transmission 128 MB of internal memory and miniSD memory expansion slot for additional storage with optional card PC synchronization via ActiveSync -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- T-Mobile MDA Specs Technical Specifications Network: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 Form Factor: Slide / Windows Mobile 5.0 Dimensions: 108 x 58 x 24 mm Weight: 161 g Antenna: Internal Navigation: QWERTY Keypad / 5-Way Keypad Battery Type: 1250 mAh Li-ion Talk Time: 5.00 Standby Time: 240 Memory: 128 MB Expandable Memory: miniSD Imaging Main Screen: 65000 colors (TFT) 240 x 320 px External Screen: Camera: 1.3 MP / 1280 x 1040 px / Flash / Video Recorder Audio MP3 Player: Windows Media Player FM Radio: No Speakerphone: Yes Push-To-Talk: N/A Multimedia Wallpapers: 240 x 320 px Screen Savers: 240 x 320 px Ring Tones: MP3 Themes: Yes Games: J2ME Streaming Multimedia: Windows Media Player Messaging SMS: Yes EMS: Yes MMS: Yes Email: Pocket Outlook Chat: AOL / MSN / Yahoo! Predictive Text: T9 Applications Phonebook Capacity: Calendar: To-Do List: WAP: 2.0 / Pocket Internet Explorer Voice Commands: Calculator: Pocket Outlook Connectivity Bluetooth: Infrared Port: High-Speed Data: GPRS (Class 10) / EDGE Wi-Fi: 802.11 b/g GPS: Yes PC Sync: Microsoft ActiveSync Some things that I am also looking for in a phone are battery life, good memory, and qwerty keyboard. So if anyone can find that phone or those phones then it would be very heplful. It can be any model as long as it's better. I would perfer a phone that is with T-mobile/unlocked and uses windows mobile.untitled.bmp
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 How about an original HTC TyTN? Your infrared requirement is really going to limit your choices! P
Guest gl3nborj Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 He he, once you have the best, you cannot settle for anything less. No nokia or other brands can compare to the ones that have an HTC board. :D
