totally lost with new ipaq!

hi everyone,

i just receivd my ipaq 114 today and it said to follow instructions on the screen after putting the getting started cd in the drive. installation got stucked at 99% so i quit. but then on my program files active sycn is showing. so i plug my ipaq into the computer with sync cable but it says not connected. so now i don't know what to do.

also my ipaq turn on without me needing to charge battery and my time has been set to sept 2007?? am i not meant to be the one to do it. has this ipaq been tampered with? thanks for any input.

When you say the installation got stuck do you mean Activesync?

It would be better to visit Microsoft to download the latest version of Activesync or if you have a Vista pc you need Device Center.

Regarding the date, this is normally set when you run the initial configuration setup when you first power on the device.

If you did not see an initial setup where you calibrate the touchscreen then it may indicate that the device has been used before.

With the battery not needing to be charged, new devices normally come with a charged battery but it is still worth charging it for around four hours initially.
