Audio volume (TCPMP and Media Player) gets quieter after receiving call or text

So, if I'm listening to songs on my microSD in TCPMP (or media player), and I receive a text or phone call, the max volume for either player gets greatly reduced. I can still hear it, but it's probably half of what it should be. In order to get it back to normal, I have to start a phone call, then hang up. After that the volume is fine.

Sorry to bother with lame questions for which I already have a temporary fix, but this stuff makes me crazy.

Has anybody else experienced this?

Anybody have any ideas on how to make it stop?
