How do you go about changing the homepage for IE with the Samsung Blackjack II?

I just signed up for the unlimited data plan with AT&T and I have to say that the default

home page leaves a lot to be desired.

Option 1 from This should be the answer you need.

If you don't already have one you'll need a registry editor (not sure what comes with the BJ2). Don't be nervous about it as it's not that easy to stuff things up permanently (but then, don't be too gung-ho either!)

To change this you will need a registry editor to edit the following key:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\AboutURLs\home

the default value is: file://\windows\home.htm

You can change it to: http://www.google.com or whatever you wish, just remember that it will need to establish a data connection to do so. I tried it for a while then ended up modifying my local home.htm file to have Google Search and my own links.

If you're not familiar with how to regedit your phone search elsewhere in the forum for customizing it's a necessary thing to learn to do.

Thank you very much for the quick answers. I'll give it a whirl when I get out of the j.o.b.

For me AboutURLS was in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (the rest of the path was the same.
