Guest kutekathy897 Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 i recently had and incident with my phone and now the LCD and the glass screen are cracked. i bought replacement parts and i was thinking about fixing it on my own. i tried but i was worried i might mess the phone up even more. are there any tips or any precautions i should take if i decide to actually replace the screens ?
Guest hagie92 Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 I think you can do it! Here's one of my topics, talking about me and my encounters taking the phone apart, and I think you may be able to scrounge up some pictures. Also in this topic (about the 6 or 7th post) are instructions written by me on how to take it apart. Here is the link and I hope it helps! http://www.modaco.com/content/samsung-i617...-took-it-apart/ -hagie92

Enjoy. though your instructions were great, i already fixed the screen. the problem is that after i fixed it i realized several buttons weren't working (back, end, m,n,b and i think a couple others) so i opened it up again and tried pressing the connectors cause i figured they were probably just loose and now it doesnt turn on. when i press power all i get it a white screen =/. i tried opening it again to see if anything was loose or broken but it all seems normal.
Guest Jesseb Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 i tried opening it again to see if anything was loose or broken but it all seems normal. You should try opening it up once again, before giving up. Have a look at the attached pictures, hopefully they can help you. I'm subscribed to this thread. if you have any more Q's just post here.
