Guest WearTheFoxHat Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 I recently tried the three mobile broadband option as I thought it would be far more convenient than using the battery on my mobile phone. Like Paul, I found that it only worked on 3G signals, unlike tethering my laptop to the Kaiser, where it will connect using GPRS, 3G, HSDPA etc. Although it was convenient having a second device which I could plug in and forget about, it just didn't cut it. So this led me onto a quest to find the ideal connectivity solution for my Advent 4211 hackintosh. Thus far I have found that the hackintosh will tether with my windows mobile handset via bluetooth or wifi (WMWifiRouter etc) ... but will not tether via USB. So next I wondered if any of the other "mobile broadband" companies service offerings allow the modem to connect at GPRS speeds too? Also ... to make this an even better solution for the hackintosh ... are there any mini PCI-e cards which are both wifi and WWAN?
Guest micaels Posted August 2, 2008 Report Posted August 2, 2008 I would recommend taking a look over here http://www.novatelwireless.com/index.php?o...=2&Itemid=9 to see if they have something that will suit you.
