Faster way to connect to GPS, and slight GPS error?

I use Google Maps, and GPS Test like some others here. I prefer not to pay $100 or more or $20 a month to have GPS on my phone.

Being outside with no buildings around and on a clear day, it can take up to 5 minutes for GPS Test to be in "Running" mode. When GPS Test finally is running, I can connect to GM's GPS instantly.

1. Is there any faster way to connect to GM's GPS now? I figured since I left this go for a few months, maybe there would be something that would accelerate the GPS connection.

2. When connected to GM's GPS and when viewing my location, its usually wrong by maybe 30-200 ft., so when on a particular street, it will show my location as in a house near the street I am on, or even on the other side of the highway going in the opposide direction. I just updated to the newest version of GM, but this happened on the old version also.

Any help/input will be greatly appreciated.
